I hear that TUI AG and First Choice Holidays are to merge.............

Peter Long says that Traveport, Expedia and Travelocity are now the main competitors to "TUI Travel".  I think Thomas Cook will have something to say about that!!  Not to mention the other tour operators!  But Peter's comments do offer an insite to the changes that are happening in the travel industry and to customers booking habits in particular.

The advantage that the (even) bigger multi nationals have is obviously volume. The problem is how to change the distribution of products? They have old technology and are beginning to change but it will take time.

Other tour operators need to make sure they have the best (affordable) techology in place, so that they can compete, otherwise they will be swamped!!!!
